Frequently Asked Questions

Do you have a brick and mortar? At the moment we do not have our own space. We currently bounce from location to location highlighting the unique businesses and event spaces in Lynchburg and the surrounding areas.

Can I get a refund? Unless an event is cancelled we cannot offer refunds.  You can, however, exchange your tickets to another performance. Please see below for details.

Can I switch my tickets to another night? If you know in advance that you cannot attend a show, email info@jamesrivertheatre.com up to 24 hours before curtain, and they will be happy to exchange your tickets for another date. There is a small exchange fee of $5 per seat. Depending on the performance you exchange into, or which seat zone you exchange into, there may be a service fee to cover the difference in ticket price.

Do you offer discounted/group ticket rates? It depends! We may not be able to offer discounted group rates due to the legal rights to a show, but please reach out to info@jamesrivertheatre.com and we can either process your group order or let you know what shows will offer that discount.

How long before the performance should I arrive? We suggest arriving 15 to 30 minutes before the show starts.

Will I be notified if a performance is cancelled? Yes, we will send out emails if an event is canceled and either issue refunds or switch tickets to another night.

Do you have wheelchair accessible seating? This is dependent on the venue. We do our best to make sure that parking and seating are as wheelchair accessible as possible.

Can I bring snacks? Unless stated otherwise no food or drink is allowed within the theatre.

What should I wear? We want everyone to be comfortable. Some people choose to make going to the theatre an event and dress to the nines, other people are more comfortable in blue jeans and T-shirt. All we ask is that you wear appropriate clothing and shoes (and if applicable, a mask).

What are your COVID-19 Policies? All patrons will have their temperatures checked before entering the theatre. Hand sanitizer will be readily available. Staff will be wiping down frequently touched surfaces. All actors and crew members temperatures will have been checked before the performance and shall be socially distanced from the audience. COVID-19 protocols are subject to change based upon the prevailing CDC guidance at the time of the performance.
