JRTC’s 2022-2023 Season:

THE REPERTORY SEASON

James River Theatre is excited to announce that we will be converting into a Repertory Theatre for Season Three! This is something that our staff feels passionate about and we are thrilled to begin this journey with you. Our company for Season Three will consist of 5 crew members and 10 actors. Each company crew member position will have the opportunity to rotate between jobs to receive a well-rounded crew education at the close of the 2022-2023 season. In addition to the 5 company crew positions, there are 10 company actor roles. The size of these roles will vary as to provide a diverse opportunity to the actors and for the slated productions in the 2022-2023 season. JRTC is committed to providing excellent theatre to the Central Virginia community while also training up the next generation of artists. All genders, ages, races, and sexual orientations are welcome!

While within the inaugural JRTC Rep Season, those hired are free to audition, interview, and participate in other shows outside of JRTC, as long as these don’t conflict with JRTC rehearsals and shows. JRTC has also taken other theaters in the area into consideration to allow our 2022-2023 Company to work as much as possible. JRTC is unable to offer housing at this time. Payment will be made to each company member three times throughout the season upon the completion of each individual show. For more information on our crew and actor positions, please see below:

Crew Interviews for James River Theatre

Rep Season 2022-2023

James River Theatre is proud to announce that we will be holding crew interviews for our Rep Season. There are 5 crew positions available that will rotate through the roles of Stage Manager, Assistant Stage Manager, Props Master, Costumer, and Running Crew. We are seeking organized, creative, versatile, and self-motivated crew members for all three shows in our 2022-2023 season; prior experience in all positions not required for consideration. Here at James River Theatre, we encourage diversity and welcome all genders, races, and sexual orientations.

COMEDY OF ERRORS will rehearse from September 12 - October 6, 2022

with shows running October 7 - 23, 2022, Friday - Sunday.

SENSE & SENSIBILITY will rehearse from January 9 - February 9, 2023

with shows running February 10 - 26, 2023, Friday - Sunday.

THE WINTER’S TALE will rehearse from June 26 - July 13, 2023

with shows running July 14 - 30, 2023 Friday - Sunday.

Audition Information for James River Theatre

James River Theatre is proud to announce that we will be holding actor auditions for our Rep Season. There are 10 actor roles available which will rotate in varying role sizes from show to show. James River is looking for strong, physical, dramatic, and comedic actors for all three shows in our 2022-2023 season. Here at James River Theatre, we encourage diversity and welcome all genders, races, and sexual orientations.

on June 25, 2022 from 2:00PM - 10:00PM.

Auditions will be held by appointment only. To schedule an audition time, please email info@jamesrivertheatre.com with your name, headshot, resume, and a list of conflicts. If you do not feel comfortable at this time auditioning in person, video submissions will be accepted; all video submissions are due by JUNE 25, 2022.
